The Magical Glow of Blue Sea Dragons
One of the most magical things about blue sea dragons is their ability to glow in the dark. But how do they do it? Let’s find out!
Blue sea dragons have special spots on their bodies that can produce light, a phenomenon known as bioluminescence. These glowing spots help them communicate with other sea creatures, find food, and even scare away predators.
Splash uses her bioluminescent spots to light up the dark ocean and signal to her friends. It’s like having built-in flashlights! The light is created by a chemical reaction inside their bodies, which is similar to how fireflies glow.
Fun Fact: Other sea creatures that use bioluminescence include jellyfish, anglerfish, and certain types of squid.
In our next post, we’ll meet some of Splash’s friends and foes in the ocean!
